Ash and Zephyr were my first Australian Shepherds. I had always loved the breed, and about two years ago, a friend of
mine had a litter. I went with the intention of picking one pup, but instead came home with two!
Unfortunately, the owner of Ash and Zephyr's sire and dam was in the process of moving at the time. When she discovered
that their registry required the parents to be DNA tested after the third litter in order to be registered, she was overwhelmed.
She gave the puppies away for free; Ash and Zephyr's parents were separated during the move, the mother went to her son, and
the father to a family friend of theirs.
Her son had no problem with me DNA testing his dog in an attempt to get Ash and Zephyr registered, but the family friend
"doesn't think its worth it for a stranger."
Though it has been a year and a half, I haven't given up on getting them registered.
Ash and Zephyr are up for stud, locally. Contact me for more information.
